Silicified MCC is produced by co-processing microcrystalline cellulose with 2 % colloidal silicon dioxide during the wet stage, permanently bonding the silica to the cellulose surface. The result outperforms simple physical blends: markedly better flow, higher tablet hardness at the same compression force, and reduced sensitivity to magnesium stearate โ ideal for high-speed presses and challenging direct-compression formulas.
