Mannitol is a polyol diluent prized for its complete non-hygroscopicity, chemical inertness and pleasant cooling sweetness. It protects moisture-sensitive actives, gives chewable and orally disintegrating tablets their smooth, cool mouthfeel, and its DC grades compress beautifully on high-speed presses.
