Croscarmellose Sodium is an internally cross-linked form of sodium CMC that swells rapidly on contact with water โ typically 4 to 8 times its volume within seconds โ pulling tablets apart from within. At use levels of just 0.5โ5 %, it delivers fast, consistent disintegration without compromising tablet hardness, making it a standard superdisintegrant in immediate-release and orally disintegrating tablets.
